| "Ronnie Carter Jones" is the story of an autistic boy who views his troubled family through the unblinking eye of a video camera.
On the surface, the Jones family appears to be quite ordinary. The family seems to be coping well with an autistic son, Ronnie, who is manageable as long as he has his video camera in hand. But a closer look reveals that the family is rapidly falling apart. Undercurrents that ratchet up tensions include a youthful rebellion by Ronnie's sister, Susan, a frightening incident where Ronnie loses control inside the family's van, and the unexpected exposure of marital infidelity. Rife with uncertainty and anger, the family unit deteriorates into a whirlwind of accusations and vicious arguing. Ronnie reacts to this emotional onslaught by withdrawing further into his own autistic world. The surprise ending is both dramatic and unexpected. Starring: Helene Myers, Douglas Hoggatt, Jacob Koeppl and Mellisa Kae Paul. This film was the Bronze Award Winner for "Original Dramatic Short" at the Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival in 2002. Watch "Ronnie" in its entirety on YouTube!
