| Samantha Wright acts as Producer and Sound Designer for Footprints Films, Inc., including on its latest feature project, circular logic.
She also serves as a producer/morning anchor/reporter for National Public Radio in Boise, winning mulitple awards for journalistic excellence from the Idaho Press Club and the Society of Professional Journalists, including "Best in the State" for her Watchdog/Investigative report, "Riders." Her spot reporting and special projects have been featured across the country and around the world on Voice Of America, National Public Radio News, National Native News, and on the Northwest Radio Network (N3.) Samantha's "An Idaho Icon" story featuring Rosalie Sorrels has won several awards, including "Use of Sound" and "Feature News" from the IPC and the SPJ. Other stories Samantha has received award recognition for include the Serious Feature Report, "Don't Call Us Heroes," her public affairs program with Jill Aldape, "Living With Alzheimers,"and Use Of Sound for "Fretless Guitar" featuring guitarist and fretless expert Ned Evett. Most recently, Samantha received two awards for her duties as Local NPR morning anchor/reporter for the stories "Cat Rescue" and "A Detective Story" from The Society Of Professional Journalists. In the past, her work has varied from Public Affairs Director for Clear Channel/Jacor's five Boise radio stations to Producer and Host for the weekly radio program "Folk Trails" for NPR. She also produced the music/storytelling CD The Long Memory featuring Rosalie Sorrels and Utah Phillips which was released by Red House Records. With Michael Martin, she produced and designed sound for the television programs, Spotlight on the Arts and The Creative Outlet. She has produced nine short films (including the award-winning "The Man With No Heart") three independent features and the feature-length documentary Chaco's Family. |
